About the role
This role is for experienced chassis and trailer technicians who want to contribute back to the trade by training the next generation of technicians.
Responsibilities
- Teach hands-on chassis and trailer repair in a real shop/lab environment
- Model what “good work” looks like—troubleshooting, maintenance, and safe practices
- Instruct students on core systems including air brake systems, trailer and chassis electrical, suspension and wheel-end components
- Coach students through real tasks and help them build confidence and discipline
- Provide clear feedback and track skill development
- Maintain a safe, organized, industry standard training environment
Requirements
- Professional experience working on chassis, trailers, or similar heavy-duty equipment
- Strong working knowledge of air, electrical, suspension, and wheel end systems
- Able to explain why something is done—not just how
- A safety first, professionalism forward mindset
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Welding experience
- Familiarity with IICL and FMCSA standards
- Reefer unit and generator experience
