Charter School Finance Specialist

About the role

The Charter School Finance Specialist will provide strategic leadership and accountability for the financial performance of the Commission's charter school portfolio. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, problem-solving, and anticipating issues affecting charter schools' accountability and autonomy, particularly in annual budgeting, viability, and financial sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, problem-solve, and anticipate issues affecting charter schools' accountability and autonomy.
• Ensure consistency, quality, and alignment of financial accountability processes across the Commission.
• Develop and support the execution of the Commission’s training catalogue.
• Identify and elevate innovative school practices across the portfolio and lead dissemination efforts.
• Assist with school communication and performance reporting.
• Support agency presentations at community meetings, public forums, and state/national conferences.
• Provide written reports, informational memos, correspondence, and other written assignments as appropriate.

Requirements

• Demonstrate regular, reliable, and engaged attendance.

Qualifications

• A master’s degree from an accredited college in a field related to the position, such as business, political science, public administration, education, research or law, and three (3) years successful work experience.
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and (5) five years successful work experience.
• (9) nine years of successful work experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

$65,352 per year.

Schedule

Remote telework based out of Missouri. The ideal candidate should reside in the Kansas City, St. Louis, or Columbia, MO areas and travel within the state.
