Chart Acquisition Specialist

Responsibilities

• Accurately acquire hospital medicine charts for registration, coding, and billing
• Maintain facility EMR access and remain compliant with all remote guidelines including patient privacy and access security
• Resolve outstanding Chart Resources queries for hospital medicine charts
• Maintain metrics and audits accurately and efficiently
• Complete all tasks with a performance expectation of 98% accuracy & 4-day TAT
• Report and publish audit findings and metrics to appropriate parties, including immediate and upper management
• Maintain quality standards throughout the department
• Maintain existing acquisition/auditing policy and procedure documents as necessary to include current coding guidelines per facility
• Review patient data to ensure accuracy including account number, name, visit date, and other demographic data when required
• Communicate to all relevant support groups for follow-up and resolution of document data issues
• Maintain daily production goals and accurate production spreadsheets
• Demonstrate agility to back-up chart validation and other Chart Resources processes when required
• Collaborate in company/departmental activities, charitable initiatives, and overall corporate goals and objectives

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 to 3 years experience in one or all the following areas: Customer Service, Quality Assurance, Research/Auditing/Reporting, Healthcare Industry
• Basic knowledge of Hospital Medicine/Emergency Medicine/Inpatient chart components and/or terminology
• Knowledge of Webex or Zoom virtual meeting platform or compatible experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical school/college or Associate degree preferred

Skills

• Intermediate proficiency level in Microsoft Office™, Microsoft Excel™, Microsoft Word™, and Microsoft Outlook™
• Experience using Kofax Capture™ or compatible application
• Experience using OnBase™ or compatible application
• Knowledge of Athena IDX billing system (preferred but not required)
• Proficiency in assigned electronic medical record systems (training provided)
• Proficiency using mySCP Care (training provided)

Pay

$13.00 - $19.00 USD per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
