About the role

CAO Projets is seeking a multidisciplinary artist with a distinctive visual language and bold staging approach, known for music videos for Les Louanges, Karkwa, Lou-Adriane Cassidy, Marie-Pierre Arthur, and Émile Bilodeau. Since 2025, CAO has been directing the portrait series Les 21 des Francouvertes. A graduate in cinema from UQÀM (2019), CAO directed Be Yourself (first short film presented at RVCQ) and Le temps d'un spleen (2022), a collective project selected at the Mecal festival in Barcelona. The directorial approach embraces chaos and precision, placing humans and their complexity at the heart of the narratives.

Responsibilities

• Direct music videos and portrait series with a unique visual language and bold staging
• Create narrative-driven visual content that places human complexity at the center of storytelling
• Collaborate with musical artists and production teams on video projects
• Contribute to collective and independent film projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cinema from UQÀM (2019)
• Experience directing music videos for established artists
• Track record of festival-selected film projects
• Multidisciplinary artistic practice

Skills

• Strong visual language and staging capabilities
• Ability to balance chaos and precision in direction
• Experience as a musician (singer-songwriter in the group Blesse, drummer for Thierry Larose, Zen Bamboo, and Le Roy, la Rose et le Lou(p))
• Participation in Polaris Prize-nominated albums
• Major tour experience (Francos de Montréal, FME, Printemps de Bourges, Francofolies de La Rochelle)
