About the role
The Charge Nurse oversees department operations, providing leadership, mentorship, and support to direct patient care staff.
Responsibilities
- Cover patient care by assessing staffing needs, assigning patients appropriately, ensuring timely, safe, and high-quality care, and aligning care plans with bedside nurses.
- Set professional conduct expectations, serve as a resource, and hold staff accountable for responsibilities and regulatory compliance, all in line with organizational standards and values.
Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
- Held a current RN license in the state or a compact license.
- Obtained BLS certification within 30 days.
- Additional unit-specific certifications may be required.
