Charge RN - Registered Nurse - Oncology Infusion - South OKC (I-240)

Location: Mercy Oncology Infusion - Oklahoma City South (I-240 Service Rd)

About the role

The Charge Nurse manages the operations of the department. They are the leader who provides support, mentorship, and guidance to those who provide direct patient care. The Charge Nurse will coordinate the delivery of patient care by determining staffing needs and making patient assignments by choosing the right assignment for the right person. They ensure that all patients receive timely, safe, effective, and high-quality care and coordinate the patients' plan of care with the bedside nurse. The Charge Nurse sets expectations regarding professional conduct and serves as a resource for the patient care unit. They hold direct and indirect care providers accountable for their professional responsibilities and adherence to regulatory guidelines. The Charge Nurse performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Mission, Values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage department operations and provide leadership to staff.
• Determine staffing needs and make patient assignments.
• Coordinate the delivery of timely, safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.
• Collaborate with bedside nurses to implement patients' plans of care.
• Set expectations for professional conduct and serve as a resource for the unit.
• Hold care providers accountable for professional responsibilities and regulatory adherence.

Requirements

• Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• At least 1 year of nursing experience (preferred).
• Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support certification or completion within 30 days of hire.
• One or more of the following certifications may be required based on the position/unit: ACLS/ALS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, CPHON, OCN, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., C-EFM, or other unit-specific certifications.

Physical Requirements

• Push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Schedule

Full Time (40 hours/week). Options include 5 eight-hour shifts or 4 ten-hour shifts per week.
