Charge R.N. DOU - Full Time - Nights - 12hr ICH

About the role

The Charge Nurse at Emanate Health is responsible for supervising staff and the operation of the unit, coordinating schedules, and ensuring compliance with standards of practice.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and manage unit operations
• Coordinate unit schedules and staff assignments
• Participate in the performance appraisal process
• Ensure staff meet approved Standards of Practice
• Manage assigned personnel and unit activities
• Promote cooperative working relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers
• Provide patient care as needed
• Assume responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame
• Coordinate and implement patient care specific to the age of the patient population served
• Ensure quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner consistent with the unit's standard of care
• Determine biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, and educational needs of patients
• Develop, implement, and revise the plan of care using nursing skills

Requirements

• Two years acute experience required
• Excellent customer service skills required
• California RN license
• BLS required
• ACLS required within 3 months of hire/transfer
• National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale Certification "A" required within 3 months of hire/transfer for those working at FPH
• Annual 1 hour of Stroke Education required for those working at QVH

Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
