About the role
The Charge Nurse at Emanate Health is responsible for supervising staff and the operation of the unit, coordinating schedules, and ensuring compliance with standards of practice.
Responsibilities
- Supervise staff and manage unit operations
- Coordinate unit schedules and staff assignments
- Participate in the performance appraisal process
- Ensure staff meet approved Standards of Practice
- Manage assigned personnel and unit activities
- Promote cooperative working relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers
- Provide patient care as needed
- Assume responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame
- Coordinate and implement patient care specific to the age of the patient population served
- Ensure quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner consistent with the unit's standard of care
- Determine biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, and educational needs of patients
- Develop, implement, and revise the plan of care using nursing skills
Requirements
- Two years acute experience required
- Excellent customer service skills required
- California RN license
- BLS required
- ACLS required within 3 months of hire/transfer
- National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale Certification "A" required within 3 months of hire/transfer for those working at FPH
- Annual 1 hour of Stroke Education required for those working at QVH
Qualifications
Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
