What You Will Do
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Workers' Compensation charge entry team
- Ensure accurate and timely posting of all Workers' Compensation charges in accordance with payer requirements and internal service level expectations (SLAs)
- Monitor work queues, productivity, and aging to ensure timely resolution of assigned work
- Review quality audits and provide coaching and feedback to staff to improve accuracy and reduce rework
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex Workers' Compensation billing or charge entry issues
- Collaborate with coding, billing, denial management, clinic operations, and other revenue cycle teams to resolve documentation, charge, and claim discrepancies
- Act as the primary liaison between clinic staff and the Charge Entry (CE) team to facilitate timely resolution of charge holds and documentation issues impacting charge posting
- Ensure compliance with state-specific Workers' Compensation billing guidelines, payer requirements, and organizational policies
- Train, onboard, and support new charge entry staff within the Workers' Compensation team
- Identify trends in errors, denials, charge holds, or workflow delays and recommend process improvements
- Develop, maintain, and distribute operational reports related to productivity, quality, backlog, charge holds, turnaround times, and other key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Analyze reporting data to identify opportunities for workflow improvements and operational efficiencies
- Assist with coverage across revenue cycle functions as needed to support business continuity, staffing needs, and departmental priorities
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of medical billing or charge entry experience
- Strong knowledge of California Workers' Compensation billing rules and requirements
- Prior lead, senior, or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience with EHR/PM systems (e.g., IMS, ECW, Prognosis, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of CPT/ICD coding fundamentals
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Compensation
Compensation Range: $89,000 - $96,000 annually
About the Role
This is a remote role. We are only hiring in the following states: AZ, CA, NM, NV, OR, TX and WA.
