About the role
The CCU Charge Nurse oversees nursing staff and patient care during shifts in the Coronary Care Unit, ensuring quality of care, regulatory compliance, and safe staffing levels.
Responsibilities
- Monitor quality of care, documentation, and regulatory compliance
- Implement care plan changes for patient safety
- Conduct patient and family rounding to improve experience
- Serve as a resource for patients, families, and staff
- Provide direct patient care to maintain safe staffing levels
- Support unit operations, communicate safety concerns
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and assignments
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate staff; assist with performance management
- Ensure supplies, equipment functionality, and inventory management
- Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Oversee nursing staff and patient care during shifts
Qualifications
- Current valid RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum one year of supervisory experience in acute care CCU setting
- At least one year of staff nurse experience in critical care
- Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certification within 6 months of hire
Pay
Up to $1,982 gross weekly, equivalent to $40.32–$55.06/hr, with a $3/hr differential.
