Charge Nurse (RN) - NICU

About the role

NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Charge Nurse (RN) responsible for coordinating departmental activities, staffing, and patient care in a neonatal unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide and supervise patient care
• Ensure regulatory compliance
• Develop and implement plans
• Mentor staff
• Act as liaison with internal and external stakeholders
• Monitor care quality
• Handle staffing and scheduling
• Oversee staff training, orientation, and competency assessments
• Manage customer service interactions, address issues, and ensure professional conduct
• Perform duties related to departmental operations and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications & Skills

• RN license in Arizona
• CPR, ACLS, and other relevant certifications as applicable
• Minimum of two years clinical nursing experience, with neonatal ICU experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication, decision-making, and change management skills
• Ability to work independently in high-stress situations and manage departmental budgets

Additional Requirements

• Advanced fetal monitoring (if L&D)
• Neonatal ventilator experience
• Management experience are preferred
• Certifications in specialty areas like Wound Care, Bariatrics, or PALS may be required or preferred
