Services include cardiac care and cardiovascular medicine, emergency care for all ages, surgery services — including robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci® Surgical System, a weight-loss program, orthopedic services, outpatient and inpatient radiology and rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep, oncology, wound care and women’s and children’s services. The Charge Nurse assumes shift responsibility and accountability for planning and providing direct/indirect nursing care to patients, families, and appropriate others under the direct supervision of the Nursing Director for the unit. Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members, directs and educates other nursing personnel to provide and facilitate optimal health care outcomes in accordance with Manatee Health policies and procedures, standards and philosophy. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes shift responsibility and accountability for planning and providing direct/indirect nursing care to patients, families, and appropriate others under the direct supervision of the Nursing Director for the unit.
  • Captures and communicates patient information accurately and timely.
  • Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members, directs and educates other nursing personnel to provide and facilitate optimal health care outcomes in accordance with Manatee Health policies and procedures, standards and philosophy.
  • Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (ASN, preferred)
  • Current RN licensure in Florida
  • Current BLS through American Heart Association
  • Current ACLS through American Heart Association
  • Current PALS through American Heart Association
  • Current TNCC Certification
  • CPI required within 6 months of hire

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of ED experience
  • Previous supervisory experience, preferred
  • Current ER experience, required
