Charge Nurse (RN) 13-Week Assignment $65/hr. - Nights | Rocky Mount Specialty

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing, and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. Responsibilities include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May also perform duties as a Charge Nurse, requiring ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care to patients.
• Participate in interdisciplinary planning and discharge planning.
• Provide patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization needs.
• Access and coordinate community resources as needed.
• Perform Charge Nurse duties, including managing the nursing unit, under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse.

Requirements

• RN License in the state where you are applying.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification, required after 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification is required from day 1 for all Charge Nurses, High Obs, and ICU positions.
• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments is preferred but not required.
• A higher comfort level working with ventilators, tracheostomy tubes, PICC lines, etc., is preferred but not required.
• Two years of experience in direct patient care is preferred but not required.

• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
