Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina – Pediatric Emergency Department, Cape Fear Valley Medical Center
About the Role
Facilitates quality patient care through utilization of resources and maintains systems and procedures which enhance staff ability to deliver quality patient care. Position consists of flexible shifts to include weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Completes daily patient assignments
- Rounds with the physicians
- Serves as resource to staff nurses, nursing assistants, monitors techs, and unit secretaries
- Assists with procedures and checks orders
- Responsible for daily QC and equipment checks on unit
- Evaluates daily patient acuity
- Focuses on patient flow and expediting patient flow
- Responsible for the oversight of quality of patient care
- Assists with clinical education of staff members in the absence of Clinical Educator/Preceptor
- Interfaces with Care Coordinator and discharge planning
- Expected to take patient assignment when other staffing options have been exhausted
- Expedites testing, admission, and discharges
- Implements processes as defined by the Hospital Innovation Project (HIP)
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in nursing required
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
- Licensed as RN by the NC Board of Nursing or qualifies to function under another Compact State RN license
- 3 years of related clinical experience preferred
- Background in leadership role or demonstrates strong leadership skills

- Much standing, walking, bending, and lifting
