About the role
We are looking for a Charge Nurse (LPN or RN) to provide exceptional care to our residents as part of our amazing team of healthcare professionals. This is a NOC (6p-6a) shift position.
Responsibilities
- Enhance the clinical care and quality of life of our residents while ensuring all resident rights are protected.
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
- Check all residents daily to ensure prescribed treatment is properly administered by nursing personnel/assistants and evaluate their physical and emotional status.
- Keep the RN Supervisor informed about the status of residents, staff, and related matters.
- Implement recommended changes as directed by the RN Supervisor or the Director of Nurses.
- Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feeding, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy and drainage bags, taking blood, sputum, and urine specimens, etc., per facility policies and procedures.
- Complete all required record-keeping forms/charts upon resident admission, discharge, or transfer, and file in the resident’s chart or forward to the appropriate department.
- Give and receive nursing reports upon starting and ending shift duty hours.
- Investigate complaints and grievances, making necessary oral/written reports to the RN Supervisor or Director of Nurses.
- Present a professional image to residents and families through dress, behavior, and speech.
- Adhere to facility policies and standards.
Requirements
- Certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
- A caring and compassionate personality and demeanor.
- Leadership and mentorship skills.
- Ability to work the scheduled NOC shift (6p-6a).
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
