Charge Nurse (LPN or RN) - Overnight Shift (11PM-730AM)

Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center, named for two Medal of Honor recipients – Colonel Van Barfoot and Colonel Carl Sitter – provides the gold standard in quality care for Virginia’s Veterans. This single-level facility features 200 single-occupancy rooms across four nursing units.

About the Role

SBVCC is recruiting for a Floor Nurse with Charge Nurse responsibilities for the 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM shift, including every other weekend. The nurse is responsible for delivering skilled nursing care for our veteran residents. An overnight shift (11:00 PM to 7:30 AM) is also available.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatment accurately for assigned residents.
• Consult with physicians; receive, record, and implement orders and schedule appointments.
• Document residents’ health changes via acute care nurse’s notes and shift change nursing reports.
• Formulate plans of care for new residents and prepare all required reports and documentation.
• Conduct daily rounds; observe and evaluate the physical and emotional status of assigned residents and take necessary actions to ensure their health and well-being.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for nursing care; consult with Nursing Supervisor/Unit Manager as needed.

Requirements

• Must be licensed as a Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in Virginia.

Qualifications

• Nursing experience in a long-term care or adult geriatric setting is preferred.

Pay

Up to $100,692.00, commensurate with experience.

• Successful completion of a Background Criminal History Check, reference and employment verifications, and Pre-Employment Drug Test are required.
• TB Skin Testing will be completed upon hire.
