Charge Nurse - Emergency Department

About the role

Join the Emergency Department team as a Charge RN in a 16-bed unit providing urgent medical care for patients with a range of conditions, from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shift assignments based on patient acuity and staff skills.
• Supervise and mentor RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, offering clinical guidance and support.
• Oversee patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
• Serve as a clinical resource and assist with high-risk or emergency situations.
• Handle patient and family concerns promptly to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least one year of clinical experience required.
• Current unrestricted RN license in South Carolina; BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Advanced certification in specialty fields and participation in professional organizations are preferred.
