About the role
Under the general supervision of the DON, the Charge RN/LPN directs, administers, and records the care given to residents in this facility. The Charge Nurse reports to the Director of Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Provide provision of care to patients in accordance with their care plans; may require conferences with physician, patient, family members, and other staff involved with patient's care
- Monitor work of other nursing staff in unit to ensure thoroughness and assist with tasks as needed
- Communicate with patient and family regarding education and progress of patient
- Review and maintain all clinical records required for patient's care and progress
- Review weekly reports to monitor personal and staff compliance to all Kansas and Federal requirements including blood borne pathogens, hazardous materials, infection control, and fire safety
