About the role
The Character Craftworker will help bring Disney characters to life, leveraging an artistic paint background, a keen eye for color, and hands-on craftsmanship. This role is ideal for someone passionate about the Disney brand and enjoys collaborative teamwork. Candidates must understand liquid measurements and mixing, demonstrate excellent hand-eye coordination, and comply with safety protocols, including wearing a cartridge respirator, air-supplied hoods, safety eye protection, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes at all times in the shop. Ability to follow work plans and adhere to schedules is essential.
Responsibilities
- Create and repair character heads and accessories
- Work with multiple mediums
- Safely operate small-scale machines such as rotomold and vacuum form machines, as well as utilize a variety of hand tools
- Paint using techniques such as spray painting, airbrushing, and line work
Requirements
- Knowledge of spraying and mixing water-based, urethane, and acrythane paints
- Proven experience with line painting, airbrushing, spray guns, priming, and clear coats
- Experience with assembly and precision trimming of urethane and fiberglass
- Familiarity and competence with tools such as Dremels, sanders, rivet guns, drills, and other hand tools
- Previous experience with fabrics, including gluing, following patterns, and cutting
- Enthusiasm for teamwork and collaboration
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Pay
$23.00 per hour (Florida).
