About the role
Pages for Change is a student-led nonprofit dedicated to improving literacy access by collecting and redistributing books to children in underserved communities. We partner with libraries, schools, and community organizations across New Jersey and are expanding our chapter network nationwide.
Role: Chapter Lead (Volunteer)
- Operate in your own community — not at our headquarters.
- This is a remote, self-directed leadership role for students who want to build something meaningful in their area.
What you'll do
- Organize book donation drives and collection events in your community.
- Build partnerships with local libraries, schools, and youth organizations.
- Recruit and coordinate a small team of volunteers.
- Track book inventory and distributions using our internal tools.
- Represent Pages for Change at local outreach events.
- Report chapter progress to national leadership.
What we're looking for
- A student (high school or college) with a genuine passion for literacy and educational equity.
- A self-starter who can work independently with minimal oversight.
- Strong communication skills for engaging schools, partners, and volunteers.
- Prior leadership experience in a school club, student government, or community setting is a plus.
- Ability to commit 3–5 hours per week.
What you'll gain
- Real nonprofit leadership experience.
- A verifiable role with measurable community impact.
- Access to our internal network portal and national team.
- Direct mentorship from the founding team.
