About the role

The Chaplain Resident provides spiritual support to patients, families, and staff on assigned units within the John Muir Health system, fulfilling ACPE accredited program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills ACPE accredited program requirements
• Provides spiritual support to patients, families, and staff on assigned units
• Fulfills healthcare ministry needs in hospital settings
• Maintains professional and personal integrity
• Reflects theologically
• Uses basic pastoral skills
• Maintains sensitivity to diverse religious and cultural practices and values
• Uses Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

Requirements

• Master's Degree Theological Studies - Preferred
• College Level Coursework in CPE - Clinical Pastoral Education - One (1) unit - Preferred
• Experience in Hospital ministry - Preferred
• Experience in Healthcare - Spiritual Care - Preferred
• Experience in Healthcare - Chaplaincy - Preferred
• Ordination in Recognized Faith Group - Preferred
• Faith Group Endorsement - Preferred

Qualifications

• Education: Master's Degree Theological Studies
• Experience: 1 year Healthcare - Spiritual Care
• Experience: 1 year Healthcare - Chaplaincy

Skills

• Sensitivity to diverse religious and cultural practices and values
• Maintains professional and personal integrity
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point)
