Chaplain (Per Diem) - Hospice
About the role
This is a per diem/on call position to cover primarily the Portland Metro area. The Chaplain provides professional and competent spiritual care ministry, and is responsible for serving the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of hospice patients and their families in their home setting. As a member of the Hospice team, the chaplain is directly responsible for the implementation of the mission, values, polices, and procedures of the Department of Spiritual Health Services and the Hospice.
Responsibilities
- Serves the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of hospice patients and their families in their home setting.
- Provides professional and competent spiritual care ministry.
- Works closely with the Hospice team to implement the mission, values, polices, and procedures of the Department of Spiritual Health Services and the Hospice.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or relevant religious studies similarly accepted in chaplaincy board certifying organizations or equivalent education/experience.
- Four clinical pastoral education units.
- Within 3 years of hire: National Chaplain Certification.
Qualifications
Required qualifications include a Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or relevant religious studies similarly accepted in chaplaincy board certifying organizations or equivalent education/experience. Four clinical pastoral education units are also required, with a National Chaplain Certification within three years of hire.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
