About the role

This is a per diem/on call position. The Chaplain provides professional and competent spiritual care ministry, and is responsible for serving the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of others in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. As a member of the healthcare team, the chaplain is directly responsible for the implementation of the mission, values, polices, and procedures of the Department of Spiritual Health Services and the facility in which they serve.

Responsibilities

  • Provide spiritual care to patients, families, and staff in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of patients and their families.
  • Engage in clinical pastoral education (CPE) activities to enhance professional development.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and committees as required.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures related to chaplaincy services.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or relevant religious studies similarly accepted in chaplaincy board certifying organizations.
  • Or equivalent educational/experience coursework/training in four clinical pastoral education units.
  • Within 3 years of hire: National Chaplain Certification.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must maintain a valid CPR certification.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant religious texts and traditions.

Pay

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
