Chaplain - Palliative Care
About the role
The Chaplain provides professional and competent spiritual care ministry, and is responsible for serving the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of others in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. As a member of the healthcare team, the chaplain is directly responsible for the implementation of the mission, values, policies, and procedures of the facility in which they serve.
Responsibilities
- Serve the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of patients, families, and staff in various settings.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care.
- Provide pastoral care, counseling, and support to patients, families, and staff.
- Implement and promote the mission, values, policies, and procedures of the facility.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or the equivalent applicable education from an accredited institution.
- Coursework/Training: 4 units—Accredited or approved by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), by programs that were accredited by the former United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Commission on Certification and Accreditation (USCCB/CCA), or the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC/ACSS).
- Within 3 years of hire National Chaplain Certification.

Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Unincorporated Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
