What You Will Do

• Provides pastoral care and/or counseling to patients, family members and visitors.
• Provides pastoral care and/or counseling to Associates and Medical Staff.
• Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for self-development and enhancement of professional competency.
• Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.

Education/Formal Training Requirements

• Required - Master's Degree in Divinity.
• Required - Master's Degree in Theology.

Work Experience Requirements

• Required - Hospital Chaplain with 1-3 years of experience.

Licenses And Certifications Requirements

• PREFERRED - Board Certified Jewish Chaplain - National Association of Jewish Chaplains.
• PREFERRED - Board Certified Catholic Chaplain - National Association of Catholic Chaplains.
• PREFERRED - Board Certified Chaplain - IC - Board of Chaplaincy Certification.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Functional knowledge of the religious principles of major faiths.
• Ability to work effectively with persons of diverse religious, cultural, and racial backgrounds.
• Skill and proficiency in applying advanced concepts, principles and professional techniques in the field of chaplaincy.
• Ability to listen, understand, and minister to the specific spiritual needs of persons in crisis.

Physical Demands

• The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
• Must have good balance and coordination.
• The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
• The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.

Supervision Provided by this Position

No supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position.
