What You Will Do
- Provides pastoral care and/or counseling to patients, family members and visitors.
- Provides pastoral care and/or counseling to Associates and Medical Staff.
- Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for self-development and enhancement of professional competency.
- Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
Education/Formal Training Requirements
- Required - Master's Degree in Divinity.
- Required - Master's Degree in Theology.
Work Experience Requirements
- Required - Hospital Chaplain with 1-3 years of experience.
Licenses And Certifications Requirements
- PREFERRED - Board Certified Jewish Chaplain - National Association of Jewish Chaplains.
- PREFERRED - Board Certified Catholic Chaplain - National Association of Catholic Chaplains.
- PREFERRED - Board Certified Chaplain - IC - Board of Chaplaincy Certification.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Functional knowledge of the religious principles of major faiths.
- Ability to work effectively with persons of diverse religious, cultural, and racial backgrounds.
- Skill and proficiency in applying advanced concepts, principles and professional techniques in the field of chaplaincy.
- Ability to listen, understand, and minister to the specific spiritual needs of persons in crisis.
Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.

No supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position.
