About the role

Location: Austin, TX, Facility: Seton Medical Center Williamson, Department/Specialty: Spiritual Care, Schedule: Full-time | Evenings | Monday - Friday, 1PM - 9 PM. Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate spiritual counsel and emotional support to patients and families, ensuring care is inclusive of all cultural backgrounds and belief systems.
• Deliver sacred rituals, sacraments, and liturgies to offer comfort and continuity of faith for the local ministry and community.
• Collaborate as a vital member of the interdisciplinary clinical team to ensure a holistic approach to patient healing and well-being.
• Foster deep connections with staff and associates, creating a supportive environment that addresses the emotional demands of the healthcare setting.
• Guide the professional growth of CPE students and fellows, shaping the next generation of spiritual care providers through active mentorship.

Requirements

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: Chaplain specializing in Cert of Endorsement obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Board Certification from the APC, NACC, CASC, or NAJC (or certification obtained within 2 years of hire, risking termination if not obtained within timeframe) is required.
• Master’s Degree in Divinity, Theology, or a related field from an accredited school is required.
• 3 units of CPE accredited by the ACPE is required only if not board-certified; 4 units of accredited CPE are preferred.
• 3-5 years of healthcare experience as a chaplain is preferred.
