Responsibilities

• Maintain the Chaparral Fitness Center.
• Assist fitness center users and serve as the fitness contact for patrons.
• Answer health and fitness-related questions.
• Instruct and assist patrons in the use of exercise equipment.
• Input and maintain patron records using member tracking software.
• Process memberships, take payments, and record financial transactions.
• Administer life support in emergencies.
• Ensure equipment is clean and in good working order; report malfunctions to the Fitness Manager.
• Resolve patron issues based on a thorough understanding of fitness center rules and policies.
• Maintain a safe exercise environment for all patrons.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High school graduate (required).
• AA degree with Physical Education emphasis (preferred).
• CPR Certification (required).
• One year of experience working in a weight room or fitness center (required); more than one year (preferred).
• Proficiency with member tracking software, Apple and Microsoft applications, and fitness equipment.
• Excellent people skills and ability to work in a busy public service area.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and stoop.
• Must pass a background check.

Schedule

• Weekdays: 4–8 PM
• Every other Saturday: 8 AM–12 PM

Pay

Starting salary beginning at $20.14/hour, based on education and experience.
