This position is responsible for supporting change efforts on medium to large-scale, complex projects utilizing change, project, and LEAN principles and techniques. Work comprises all stages of the project lifecycle, including scoping, planning, management, and implementation. This is an entry-level project management role focused on enabling change for highly integrated, enterprise-wide initiatives. Projects frequently involve varied participants, areas of high ambiguity, and competing priorities or interdependencies. The role is remote/work from home, and you must reside in Oregon or SW Washington.
Responsibilities
- Identify change impacts, desired mindsets, and behavior changes needed to realize project benefits within varying team cultures.
- Support senior staff in developing change management strategies and plans using EPMO tools, outlining milestones, priorities, needs, and resources.
- Organize and participate in stakeholder meetings to identify needs and build alignment through change.
- Analyze business needs to identify process impacts and inform business cases, project proposals, and plans.
- Create tactical plans to engage teams and guide them through transitions based on how people will experience change.
- Align and collaborate with senior change managers and project/process improvement managers to manage change associated with initiatives.
- Monitor and communicate adoption status to sponsors, business owners, and stakeholders to ensure progress toward successful transition.
- Provide formal and informal presentations and reports on project adoption and status.
- Facilitate consensus within divergent groups and represent the organization regarding project alignment with strategic plans.
- Measure adoption and monitor change integration into the business.
- Identify potential risks or barriers to project goals and take steps to mitigate or avoid them.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, policies, laws, and regulations outlined in the project plan.
- Establish methods for measuring adoption and course-correct as needed.
- Utilize the Change Management toolkit and templates to facilitate project adoption.
- Track adoption and mitigation needs, and develop or recommend process improvements.
- Maintain records, documentation, and reports throughout the project lifecycle.
- Close project files upon completion, review documentation, and provide a change sustainment plan.
- Facilitate post-implementation evaluations to identify system or process improvement opportunities.
- Provide subject matter expertise for implementation, configuration, and ongoing support of internal systems and analytics.
- Actively participate in business unit planning and performance metrics.
- Recommend and draft policies and procedures for departmental or organizational use.
- Participate in cross-departmental initiatives and assist in training or modeling EPMO concepts.
- Contribute to communities of practice, tool maturation, and team growth pathways in change management.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of project management experience, including at least 2 years of change management experience.
- Experience supporting medium and large-scale change efforts.
- Minimum 1 year of experience on complex information systems projects.
- Change management training (e.g., Prosci, Kotter) or related certifications (e.g., Scrum, Agile, PMI).
- 1 or more years of experience in health plan operations (preferred).
Skills
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, methods, and techniques, as well as organizational change management.
- Familiarity with multiple project management frameworks, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Understanding of health plan functions and system implications (preferred).
- Ability to apply process improvement and redesign principles (e.g., Lean, PDSA, Six Sigma).
- Strong ability to develop detailed change plans aligned with timelines and budgets.
- Ability to manage multiple activities, matrixed teams, and competing priorities within time and budget constraints.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, collaboration tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Mural), and resource planning.
- Expertise with information systems in the health insurance or related industry (preferred).
- Excellent communication skills, including listening, verbal, written, documentation, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups, and maintain professionalism with internal and external partners.
- Ability to learn, focus, evaluate information, and determine appropriate actions.
- Ability to accept direction and feedback, manage stress, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Working Conditions
- Work environment: Indoor/office setting.
- Member/patient facing: No direct in-person or telephonic interaction.
- Hazards: May include physical and ergonomic risks.
- Equipment: General office equipment.
- Travel: Occasional required or optional travel outside the workplace; personal vehicle, local transit, or other transportation may be used.
- Work location: Remote/work from home (must reside in Oregon or SW Washington).
Pay
Estimated hiring range: $82,620.00 – $100,980.00 annually. Bonus target: 5% annual SIP (Success Incentive Plan).
