The Department of Radiology is a cornerstone of Houston Methodist’s academic and clinical enterprise, performing more than 2.3 million imaging studies annually and supporting a broad spectrum of diagnostic and interventional radiology services across the health system. The department is distinguished by its commitment to imaging innovation, translational research, physician education, and multidisciplinary collaboration, supported by the Houston Methodist Research Institute and Translational Imaging Center. The Chair will serve as the senior academic radiology leader and will be responsible for advancing the department’s strategy across research, education, faculty development, and academic programs. In partnership with Houston Methodist leadership and Houston Radiology Associates, the Chair will strengthen alignment between the clinical and academic missions while advancing the department’s national reputation in imaging science, innovation, and education. A key priority for the Chair will be to recruit, develop, and mentor outstanding faculty while expanding translational imaging research, clinical trials, artificial intelligence initiatives, and educational programs. The Chair will foster a collaborative, high-performing culture grounded in innovation, scientific discovery, service excellence, and academic achievement. The Chair will also oversee the continued growth of the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program and fellowship programs while championing advances in radiomics, computational imaging, predictive analytics, and AI-enabled diagnostics. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished academic radiologist with a distinguished record of leadership, scholarship, faculty development, and multidisciplinary collaboration. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a nationally prominent and rapidly advancing academic radiology program within one of the country’s premier academic health systems.
