About the role

A private equity investment firm focused on the lower-middle market is seeking to connect with experienced CFO talent for a confidential portfolio-company opportunity. The firm partners closely with management teams to support growth, strengthen operations, improve financial performance, and create long-term enterprise value. The opportunity will involve working with an entrepreneurial leadership team in a hands-on, commercially focused environment. A private equity-backed company is confidentially evaluating experienced CFO candidates to lead its finance function and serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, ownership and Board. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a commercially minded CFO who can combine strong financial management with operational leadership and a focus on business performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the company's overall financial strategy, planning and execution.
• Partner with the CEO, Board and ownership on strategic planning, growth initiatives and value creation.
• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, cash flow and financial controls.
• Drive EBITDA improvement, margin expansion and working-capital optimization.
• Develop and implement meaningful financial and operational KPIs.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, reporting and overall financial infrastructure.
• Support acquisitions, due diligence and post-acquisition integration as applicable.
• Provide actionable financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Build, develop and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.
• Present financial results, forecasts and recommendations to senior leadership and the Board.
• Serve as a hands-on business partner who can identify opportunities and translate financial data into operational results.

Requirements

• Proven CFO or senior finance leadership experience, preferably within a lower-middle-market or private equity-backed organization.
• Demonstrated success improving EBITDA, cash flow, profitability and operational performance.
• Experience partnering with CEOs, Boards, ownership groups and/or private equity sponsors.
• Strong background in FP&A, forecasting, financial reporting and cash management.
• Experience with acquisitions, integrations, ERP implementations or finance transformation is highly valued.
• A hands-on, commercially oriented leader who is comfortable both setting strategy and rolling up their sleeves to execute.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to build teams and influence across the organization.

Pay

$300,000 - $350,000 per year
