What You'll Do
- Develop heat transfer, fluid flow, and combustion models to simulate system performance under abuse scenarios
- Design novel tests to study battery properties in abusive conditions and correlate findings with computational models
- Build and utilize first-principle analytical models to accelerate design decisions
- Establish standards to guide design directions for new programs
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate safety considerations into battery pack development
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience, with 2 years of relevant work experience
- Strong foundation in thermal and mechanical engineering principles
- Demonstrated experience in thermal modeling for at least one relevant product line
- Familiarity with CFD tools such as Star-CCM+ or Ansys Fluent
- Proficiency in MATLAB and CAD software
- Experience with measurement equipment like DAQs and sensors
- Understanding of basic electrochemistry principles
