Responsibilities
- Working with long-term care facilities in a designated territory to assist with wound assessments and treatment decisions
- Making sure wound care products are used correctly and properly
- Understanding how to document and get reimbursed for wound care services according to Medicare guidelines
- Talking to facility staff about documenting wound care in ways that meet both federal and state rules
- Helping facilities manage their wound care programs by keeping track of things, writing down important details, and understanding what wound care products are covered by insurance
Requirements
- A valid healthcare license (RN, LPN, PT, OTR-L, DPM or similar) is preferred but can be obtained in the first year of employment
- Having great customer service skills is very important
- Being good at running a business and being a good salesman is helpful
- Being able to work on your own without needing help is necessary
- Being hard-working and motivated is key
- Being organized and paying close attention to details is important
- Living in the designated area and being willing to travel every day is required
