Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection of structural and pressure piping welds in accordance with AWS D1.1, ASME B31.3/B31.8, and applicable client specifications
  • Monitor and document all welding activities including preheat, interpass temperature, and PWHT compliance
  • Review and verify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Welder Qualification Records (WQR/PQR)
  • Cover coordination of Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) activities (RT, UT, MT, PT) and review radiographic and inspection reports
  • Conduct pipeline integrity inspections per API 1169 standards including mainline, tie-in, and station piping
  • Ensure materials, fittings, and components meet Material Requirements Documents (MTRs) and project specs prior to installation
  • Maintain accurate daily inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and photographic documentation
  • Interface with client QA/QC representatives, project management, and third-party inspectors

Required Qualifications

  • Active AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
  • Active API 1169 Pipeline Construction Inspector certification
  • Minimum 5 years of field inspection experience on natural gas or liquids pipeline/compressor station projects
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting isometric drawings, P&IDs, and project specifications
  • Strong working knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.8, and OSHA safety requirements
  • Ability to work independently in a field environment with minimal supervision
