Certified Welder

Company Overview: Boiler Tube Company of America, a division of Babcock Power Services, a Babcock Power Inc.® company, has designed, fabricated, and installed specialty replacement parts and components for boilers of all sizes and designs since 1918. Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Welder to join our team. The Welder will be responsible for joining, cutting, and repairing metal and other materials using welding equipment. The ideal candidate should be able to work with various welding techniques, read blueprints or technical drawings, and follow safety protocols to ensure high-quality and durable work. Essential Responsibilities Welding Operations: Perform welding tasks using different techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and arc weldingWeld, cut, and fabricate metal components as per project requirements and technical drawingsEnsure all welding work is performed with precision and to specified quality standards Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or injuriesMaintain and use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, helmets, and masksInspect workpieces for defects before and after welding and correct any issues Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or schematics to determine welding requirementsEnsure welding work meets specified measurements, alignment, and tolerancesMaintain and repair welding machines, tools, and other equipment used in the welding processRegularly inspect and clean welding equipment to ensure proper functionality Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other team members, engineers, or supervisors to plan and execute welding tasksCommunicate any challenges or issues with the welding process to supervisors in a timely manner Quality Control: Ensure that welding joints meet industry standards and specificationsConduct inspections of completed welds using tools like micrometers, calipers, or visual inspection to check for accuracy Requirements Proven experience as a Welder or in a similar roleProficiency in various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick)Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprintsStrong knowledge of welding materials and metal propertiesExcellent attention to detail and ability to perform quality checks on completed workAbility to work in various environments (e.g., outdoor, industrial settings)Good physical strength and stamina, capable of working in a physically demanding environment Preferred Qualifications: Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, ASME)Experience with advanced welding technologies or automationKnowledge of CAD software for design interpretation (a plus) Work Environment: Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, dust, and noiseMay be required to work in confined spaces or at heights Benefits Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity)Short Term & Long Term DisabilityTraining & DevelopmentWellness Resources
