About the role
This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It focuses on welding & fabrication, machining, final integration and testing of large tooling, landing platforms, and other launch infrastructures.
Responsibilities
- Certify welds across fabrication teams
- Inspect to and work in accordance with national fabrication codes and standards
- Work with large assemblies, including developing weld maps and reviewing manufacturing drawings
- Support design and manufacturing teams in an aerospace environment
- Prepare specifications, test reports, and design substantiation documentation
Requirements
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification with minimum 5 years' experience
- Experience with GTAW, FCAW, SMAW welding processes
- Extensive knowledge of NDT processes including VT, PT, MT
- Experience in shop fabrication requirements established in codes and standards
- Experience in welder performance qualification tasks
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
- Available to work all required shift hours, including overtime and weekends
- Willing to travel 25% of the time
- Able to work at heights and confined spaces

- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
- Pass background checks and meet export control regulations

Skills
- Knowledge of national fabrication codes and standards (AWS D17.1, ASME BPVC Section IX, B31.1, B31.3, AWS D1.1, 1.2, D1.6, D14.0 etc.)
- Experience in large assembly / tooling fabrication
- Experience developing weld maps and reviewing manufacturing drawings
- Experience with carbon and stainless steels, aluminum alloys, Ni-based Alloys, and/or other aerospace materials
- Experience in hardware manufacturing processes
- Ability to learn, grow, and tackle new challenges in a fast-paced environment
