About the role

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It focuses on welding & fabrication, machining, final integration and testing of large tooling, landing platforms, and other launch infrastructures.

Responsibilities

  • Certify welds across fabrication teams
  • Inspect to and work in accordance with national fabrication codes and standards
  • Work with large assemblies, including developing weld maps and reviewing manufacturing drawings
  • Support design and manufacturing teams in an aerospace environment
  • Prepare specifications, test reports, and design substantiation documentation

Requirements

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification with minimum 5 years' experience
  • Experience with GTAW, FCAW, SMAW welding processes
  • Extensive knowledge of NDT processes including VT, PT, MT
  • Experience in shop fabrication requirements established in codes and standards
  • Experience in welder performance qualification tasks
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Available to work all required shift hours, including overtime and weekends
  • Willing to travel 25% of the time
  • Able to work at heights and confined spaces

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
  • Pass background checks and meet export control regulations

Skills

  • Knowledge of national fabrication codes and standards (AWS D17.1, ASME BPVC Section IX, B31.1, B31.3, AWS D1.1, 1.2, D1.6, D14.0 etc.)
  • Experience in large assembly / tooling fabrication
  • Experience developing weld maps and reviewing manufacturing drawings
  • Experience with carbon and stainless steels, aluminum alloys, Ni-based Alloys, and/or other aerospace materials
  • Experience in hardware manufacturing processes
  • Ability to learn, grow, and tackle new challenges in a fast-paced environment
