Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and patients, escorting them into exam rooms and documenting vital signs and patient histories.
  • Aid veterinarians in appointments, surgeries, dentistry, and euthanasias, under their supervision.
  • Handle and dispense medications, schedule appointments, communicate with clients, and manage accounts receivable.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthesia, and ensure safe discharges.
  • Provide in-hospital treatments, maintain cleanliness, and assist in training new staff.
  • Perform additional duties and provide support as needed.

Requirements

  • College or equivalent education as required for becoming a Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the relevant state.
  • At least 1 year of previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Compassionate and sympathetic nature, maintaining a professional attitude during challenging situations.
  • Telephone and computer skills.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques, offer creative ideas, and adapt to changes.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid license to practice as a Veterinary Technician in the state where the hospital is located.
  • Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
