About the role
The Practice is currently undergoing an exciting clinical evolution with a new DVM team leading the way. Our focus is on elevating the standard of care and integrating innovative approaches like acupuncture, allergy testing, diet consultations, and supplements.
Responsibilities
- Aid veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery.
- Take histories, vital signs, and weights for outpatient exams.
- Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during surgery.
- Obtain and prepare blood, stool, and other samples for in-hospital and external testing.
- Take and develop radiographs, ensuring proper safety procedures are followed.
- Handle and restrain animals during exams.
- Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments under the guidance of veterinarians.
- Clean and straighten exam rooms, treatment, and lab areas; restock exam rooms with supplies.
- Assist other team members to maintain cleanliness in public areas and medical equipment.
- Demonstrate warmth, courtesy, and professionalism in all interactions with clients and patients.
- Communicate effectively with veterinarians and practice team members, including discussing patient plans, addressing client concerns, and more.
Qualifications
- Current license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician in the state of desired employment.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety techniques, including proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS Office applications.
- Basic math skills to calculate medication dosages.
- Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety.
Pay
Competitive salary range: USD $28.00 - USD $35.00 /Hr.
