About the role

The Practice is currently undergoing an exciting clinical evolution with a new DVM team leading the way. Our focus is on elevating the standard of care and integrating innovative approaches like acupuncture, allergy testing, diet consultations, and supplements.

Responsibilities

  • Aid veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery.
  • Take histories, vital signs, and weights for outpatient exams.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during surgery.
  • Obtain and prepare blood, stool, and other samples for in-hospital and external testing.
  • Take and develop radiographs, ensuring proper safety procedures are followed.
  • Handle and restrain animals during exams.
  • Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments under the guidance of veterinarians.
  • Clean and straighten exam rooms, treatment, and lab areas; restock exam rooms with supplies.
  • Assist other team members to maintain cleanliness in public areas and medical equipment.
  • Demonstrate warmth, courtesy, and professionalism in all interactions with clients and patients.
  • Communicate effectively with veterinarians and practice team members, including discussing patient plans, addressing client concerns, and more.

Qualifications

  • Current license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician in the state of desired employment.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety techniques, including proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS Office applications.
  • Basic math skills to calculate medication dosages.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety.

Pay

Competitive salary range: USD $28.00 - USD $35.00 /Hr.
