Certified Tutor

About the Role

Support students in academic enrichment and behavior management. Provide one-on-one or group tutoring to reinforce classroom learning, helping students with classwork, and fostering a positive learning environment. Oversee students, ensuring they adhere to behavioral guidelines and complete their assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Relate well with students, parents, and peers
• Maintain excellent classroom control
• Work in a team environment
• Assist at district and building level in developing curriculum
• Motivate students in an enthusiastic, creative, and resourceful manner
• Work with students outside the classroom environment (e.g., club advisor, class advisor)
• Present a neat, clean, professional appearance at all times
• Set and pursue long-range and short-range goals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a job-related area
• Washington State Teaching Certificate
• Meet WA State Certification Criteria

Pay

$45.00 per hour or per diem, whichever is lower.

Schedule

• 5 days per week, 180 days total
• 2 hours per day
• Temporary position: August 24, 2026 – June 4, 2027

Work Environment

The role requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and fine finger dexterity. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard-free environment.
