About the role

Misericordia Heart of Mercy is a home to over 600 children and adults with mild to profound developmental disabilities. Misericordia offers a community of care that maximizes potential for persons with mild to profound developmental disabilities, many of whom are also physically challenged. Misericordia offers a continuum of care to meet residents’ diverse needs and aspires for each individual to live as independently as possible in the highest level of community integration feasible.

Responsibilities

• Provide active treatment and implement programs to consistently improve upon the physical, cognitive, and emotional supports provided to our residents with severe-profound disabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in therapeutic recreation
• Minimum of one year experience supporting persons with multiple disabilities
• Experience supporting persons with medically complex needs preferred
• Ability to be self-directed with strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to be flexible regarding work schedule, including working evenings and weekends
• Meet State requirements (i.e. fingerprinting, background check, drug screening)
