Position: 0.90 FTE Teaching Assistant (multiple positions available) at Wayne Technical & Career Center (WTCC), Williamson, NY. Job Category: Teaching Assistants, Aides & Tutors.
Responsibilities
- Provide instructional services to students under the general supervision of a licensed or certified teacher.
- Support students to ensure a safe, orderly environment conducive to teaching and learning.
- Implement specialized instruction to students.
- Collaborate with colleagues and assist teacher to meet student learning needs.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with stakeholders.
- Assist with maintaining record keeping.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings.
- Promote equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments.
Requirements
Only candidates who hold NYS Teaching Assistant certification will be considered. Certification is required by the New York State Education Department: any person employed as a teaching assistant shall hold a temporary license, continuing certificate, or a Level I, II, III or Pre‑Professional certificate. However, if an individual holds a teaching, pupil personnel, or administrative certificate, they need not also obtain a temporary license, continuing certificate, Level I, II, III or Pre‑Professional certificate to serve as a teaching assistant, unless required by the employing district.
Essential elements of the position may require specialized knowledge and/or experience in the field and/or trade subject. Depending on the course, there may be a requirement of successful completion of specialized training and/or safety certifications.

Pay
Salary/Pay Scale: $25,879.50 - $28,543.90
