Job Responsibilities
- Developing library programs and enhancing library services as needed.
- Managing the circulation of books, materials, and resources.
- Establishing positive relationships with local and state libraries and public individuals to pick up donated books.
- Screens materials for appropriateness before distribution to libraries.
- Providing literacy and numeracy instruction.
- Integrating career-related activities to individuals.
Requirements
- Satisfy all mandatory training requirements of Palmetto unified school district and South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC).
- Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
Qualifications
- A valid South Carolina teaching credential in media specialist.
Skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to manage and organize library resources.
- Knowledge of literacy and numeracy instruction.
- Experience with career-related activities.
