Certified Surgical Technologist - Hudson Valley - Operating Room - Day Flex

About the role

Feel the Pride of History-Making Surgical Care and Caring at NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital in Northern Westchester County. Our Operating Rooms are nearly 50-percent larger than typical ORs, designed to accommodate larger equipment for minimally invasive procedures and to create the optimal medical environment.

Responsibilities

• Function as a scrub person, circulation assistant, and member of the surgical team.
• Assist in the care, preparation, and maintenance of supplies and equipment in the Operating Room.
• Provide crucial support to physicians throughout a wide range of surgical procedures (e.g., bariatric, robotics, and laparoscopic).

Schedule

Full time position working 6:45 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with rotation to 8:45 a.m.–7:00 p.m. once a week at NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor, New York. On-call requirement for weeknights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the Association of Surgical Technologists or Surgical Technician by the National Board of Surgical Technician and Surgical Assisting.
• New graduates: Certification must be obtained within six months of hire; must supply exam date prior to start of employment and complete a six-month probationary period.
• Knowledge of Perioperative Nursing Practice & Patient Care.

Preferred Criteria

• Prior experience as an OR/Surgical Tech in an acute care setting.

Pay

Salary range: $40.00–$48.00 per hour (commensurate with experience, education, and licensure).
