About the Role

Join St. Mark's Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, as a Surgical Technician II in the Operating Room. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care by assisting staff during operative and invasive procedures, ensuring the operating room is prepared, and acting as a preceptor for other techs as needed. Responsibilities

  • Competent in all Level II procedures (spine, peripheral CV, advanced endoscopic, multi-specialty procedures) as verified by specific competencies.
  • Work with Housekeeping and Central Processing staff to clean Operating Rooms and equipment between patients following facility policies and procedures.
  • Participate in safety initiatives to ensure correct surgery inpatient identification and verification of the procedure to be performed within the OR when the patient is present and prior to the surgical prep.
  • Anticipate and meet the needs of the surgeon based on previous experience.
  • Follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures.
  • Consistently assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-stocked, organized, and safe patient care environment.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification; BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C).
  • At least 1 year of hospital experience strongly preferred.
