About the role

Responsible for maintaining the sterile field in the operating room, being constantly vigilant to see that proper aseptic techniques utilized to prevent contamination and infection. Required to assist the surgical team as the sterile member who passes instruments, sutures, and sponges during surgery. Assists with prompt turnover of surgical cases, case setup and proper care of surgical instruments and equipment. Performs delegated patient care duties.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the prompt turnover of surgical cases
  • Set up and properly care for surgical instruments and equipment
  • Perform delegated patient care duties
  • Work call schedule

Requirements

  • Graduate of Nursing or Surgical Technologist program
  • Surgical Technologist Certification
  • BLS (or within 6 months of hire)
  • Current Montana Nursing License (LPN only)

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and anatomy
  • Asepsis and sterile technique knowledge
