About the role
Reporting to the Charge Nurse/Shift Manager of the assigned area, the Operating Room Technician performs duties under the direction of the WCC OR Supervisor/Registered Nurse (RN). Responsible for providing high-quality individualized basic care activities within the scope of practice. The WCC OR Technician assists the RN/MD (surgeon) in the Operating Room and consults with the Clinical Manager and Department Director as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Perform duties under the direction of the WCC OR Supervisor/Registered Nurse (RN).
- Provide high-quality individualized basic care activities within the scope of practice in the Operating Room.
- Assist the RN/MD (surgeon) as needed.
Requirements
- Completion of a formal OR Technician training program, or participation in a hospital-based OR Technician training program or military OR tech training.
- Minimum one-year experience in an acute care setting.
- One-year experience in OR/OB.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing).
- Current BLS certification.
- For Certified Operating Technician only: Certification from an approved Operating Room Technician certifying body.
Qualifications
- High School diploma preferred.
Skills
Frequent standing/walking. Ability to lift/position up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 50 lbs of force. Moderate reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, manual dexterity, and mobility. Ability to move quickly and adjust vision sufficiently to perform duties.
Working Conditions

Pay
$27.82 - $37.38 hourly. Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.
Schedule
- Part Time.
- Nights with holiday rotation.
