Certified Senior Pharmacy Technician

About the role

Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the practice of pharmacy, entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, and assisting pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow.
• Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Processes manual claims for third-party program prescription services and assists in inventory management activities.
• Supports the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing and maintaining relationships with the local medical community and executing the Pickup program.
• Coaches pharmacy technicians and cashiers in the correct use of processes and tools to drive efficiency within the pharmacy.

Requirements

• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in certain locations).

Qualifications

• Prior work experience with Walgreens preferred.
• Basic math skills (counting, measuring, weighing medications) preferred.
• Basic PC skills (starting and shutting down computer, using mouse, starting and closing programs, switching between programs, saving files, printing documents, accessing information online) preferred.
• Knowledge of store inventory control preferred.
