Description

40 hours per pay period, shifts from 6:45 AM - 5:15 PM, days vary based on Surgery Schedule and patient needs.

Provides quality nursing care

• Assigned perioperative patients
• Through the use of the nursing process
• All care delivered throughout the perioperative period until discharged

Maintains the standard of nursing practice

• Within the limits of THMH policies
• The Michigan Nurse Practice Act

Assists the surgeon

• Carries out functions to assist the surgeon
• Perioperative nursing role
• Knowledge, skill, and judgment necessary to assist the surgeon
• First assisting phase of the perioperative role
• Does not concurrently function as a scrub nurse
