About the role
We are seeking a dynamic First Assist RN to join our healthcare team. Your primary function is to perform as the surgeon’s assistant in the operating room, during evaluations, procedures, care management, and follow-up. You would be part of a phenomenal team that works hard to support each other while providing excellent care to our patients in a collaborative manner.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance in emergency procedures as well as elective and scheduled cases
- Serve as a liaison between the surgical team and the patients' families
- Assess patients before, during, and after surgery and maintain a sterile operating room
- Perform count procedures to protect patient from unintended retained foreign objects as well as perform interventions necessary to ensure the patient’s procedure is performed on the correct site, side, and level
- Perform interventions throughout the surgical procedure to maintain the status of the patient’s genitourinary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological systems, and fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base balances at or above baseline levels
- Actively involve patient or designated support person in decisions affecting their post perioperative plan of care and the rehabilitation process
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required
- Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation
- BLS-AHA Provider issued card required within 30 days of start
- CNOR preferred
- Certification as RNFA required
- Acute Care Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years previous experience or completion of Perioperative Nursing course required

Pay
Compensation and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is typically Monday through Friday, with some weekend and holiday coverage as needed.
