About the role
Administer anesthesia, monitor patients' vital signs, and oversee patient recovery from anesthesia. Assist with anesthesia-related medical and emergency situations such as airway maintenance and pulmonary ventilation.
Responsibilities
- Comply with rules and regulations of all applicable federal, state, and local laws as well as all KRMC policies and Medical Staff rules and regulations.
- Maintain excellence in airway management and be familiar with the usage of all airway adjuncts, including Glidescope, fiberoptic scope, ILMA, etc.
- Work within your scope of delineated clinical privileges and within the State of Nebraska's scope of practice.
- Maintain all required continuing education credits, credentialing, ACLS, professional licensure, insurance payer enrollment, and completion of all required employer/hospital training (Computer Based Learning).
- Participate in pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation, including preparing anesthesia equipment and supplies anticipated for the procedure.
- Perform a pre-anesthetic assessment and develop a specific anesthesia plan of care for each patient and or procedure.
- Execute the patient-specific plan for anesthesia care, including maintaining the appropriate confidentiality of patient information, reviewing appropriate documentation for informed consent, identifying appropriate surgical site, participating in surgical pauses, using appropriate monitoring devices, managing anesthesia, monitoring patient responses, and providing post-anesthesia care.
- Provide acute and chronic post-operative pain management modalities, selecting medications, fluids, and ventilatory support necessary to facilitate recovery from anesthesia.
- Provide post anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Post-graduate degree in Nurse Anesthesia.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Nebraska.
- Current CRNA licensure in the state of Nebraska.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
