Certified Respiratory Therapist PRN - Lourdes Main Campus

Responsibilities

• Compliance/Quality: Adhere to departmental and organizational policies and procedures; observe safety, quality assurance, and infection control standards; document clinical activities correctly and accurately; perform universal precautions, proper hand washing, and aseptic technique; adhere to infection prevention protocols; ensure timely and proper equipment changes; maintain competency in mechanical ventilation and non-invasive ventilation.
• Patient Care Delivery: Provide clinical assessments of patients in impending distress; complete assigned respiratory care procedures and treatments according to departmental procedures; ensure proper medication administration and documentation; analyze blood gas samples; convey age-specific education to patients and families; communicate patient outcomes to other health team members; engage actively with the multi-disciplinary team.
• Collaboration/Partnerships: Participate in Quality rounds, department huddles, meetings, in-services, and educational training sessions; communicate patient outcomes; engage in community service projects; maintain membership in professional organizations.
• Other Duties as Assigned: Complete other assigned tasks as directed.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent (10 Years experience as licensed therapist substituted for Associates Degree)
• Successful completion of the National Certification exam administered by the NBRC
• Current Louisiana State License or permit issued by LSBME as LRT; BLS certification
