Responsibilities
- Provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily
- Conduct tests like pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients
- Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently
- Be part of a rapid response team in emergencies, providing airway management, performing intubations, and resuscitating patients in critical situations
- Assess patients' respiratory status, monitor their progress, and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed
- Ensure that all respiratory equipment is properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained to prevent infections and ensure patient safety
Requirements
- Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required
- Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
- Hired before March 2026, are exempt
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current
- Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Two (2) years of acute care experience required
